Socials- We have just finished studying the Underground Railroad in Social Studies.  Currently, we are reading a book called The Last Safe House- A story of the Underground Railroad.  In the story, it talks about how the "slave" women would make gingerbread cookies for the "master's" children.  We are going to bake and decorate cookies next Wednesday.  I have asked each student to bring in a toonie to help pay for the supplies.  We are going to decorate them like a Christmas gingerbread cookie.

60% of the class now understands long division well. 30% of the class is starting to get it and should be on their way with one more 1.5 hour lesson and activities.  10% of the class is "lost", due to absences or NOT knowing their multiplication tables.
Whatever extra reinforcement anyone can provide at home, especially for students who have been absent or have not memorized multiplication tables, is a real benefit. It will make Math a lot easier, more pleasant and motivating!

This is a "make or break" situation for many kids in Math. Let's help make all Math easier for them.

• Order forms were sent home today for Senor Froggy's.  The lunch is for next Wednesday and order forms are due back this Thursday!
