Tuesday and Wednesday, March 15th and 16th.
1. On Tuesday, a large part of the day was dedicated to an assembly with a guest speaker. Dana, a 55 year old male, had canoed from Winnipeg to the Amazon with his dad. They are now in the Guiness Book Of World Records for the longest canoe ride. He spoke of almost losing his life many times, of all the cool animals they witnessed and adventures that had! Please ask your child what messages Dana conveyed throughout his talk and at the end of his talk.

Friday, March 11
1. Owl Magazine contest- optional.
2. Math Measurement test- signed and rtrnd by Monday if possible.
CONGRATULATIONS to: Kate Zulinick, Abby Simpson, Risa Murdoch, Ben Facchinelli and Luukas Dong. These 5 students have been voted and chosen to represent McGowan Park School for their fabulous art talents. They will get to go to TRU on April 28 to learn some art from some very talented people, like our own artist teacher, Mrs. Cone. Mrs. Cone sells her jewelry at many stores in B.C. but she will be offering fabric art at the Conference. It should be noted that runners up for 6th, 7th and 8th place were: Jensen Sczebel, Jadyn Walker and Justine Etherington.
These students were chosen from all grade 4to 7 entries (over 150 of them) in the school. Runner ups will go if any winners above are sick April 28.
Also, congratulations to Hunter McKeenan, whose bridge held more weight at the contest last week at TRU than anyone else in the class! (except Mrs. Abraham's second bridge with 389 pounds, after it lounged in the secret sauna for a week!)
