Wednesday, Oct. 23

Thursday, Oct. 24

1.  Math, gr. 4- pg 326, gr. 5...pg. 59- Due Monday.  Most kids all done.
2.  Poetry- first draft of SHAPE poem- due Monday.  Most done.
3.  Rats Of Nimh- 10 adjectives times 2 characters- due Monday.  Most done.
4. Rats of Nimh test- Thursday- one week to study; I will help kids study next week.
5. French poster on Human Body- due Thursday.

I ordered whatever Scholastic was sent.

Recall:  PRO- D Day tomorrow. I'll be in the school learning about art and writing ideas.   Kids do not come to school. Most teachers are elsewhere at conferences, etc.

Tuesday, Oct. 22

1.  Thanks so much to all parents who came along to the Pumpkin Patch. I think the kids had lots of fun and got some great pumpkins!

Monday, Oct. 21

1.  We leave at 10:00 for Pumpkin Patch- bring hat, mitts, and jacket.

4.  Scholastic orders: due this Thursday.
5.  Pro- D Day this Friday
6. Try to finish Rats of Nimh

Friday, Oct. 18

1.  Dance is at 6 PM tonight put on by PAC.  Students must be accompanied by an adult.
2.  Scholastic new orders- due next Thursday.
3.  Photo retakes are Oct. 30
4.  Adding test- Monday.  Kids should know how to add using up to 4 digit numbers and know how to carry.
5.  Multiplication drill - 2 minutes-  always Mondays unless there is a holiday.
6.  Try to finish reading Rats of Nimh.

Thursday, Oct. 17

2.  Dance Friday night- look for your costume!

Everybody still wants to drive to Pumpkin Patch, so if parents want to give a $3.00 donation, it will help pay for all the parents. I am sorry that I have to ask for this as I know you are already spending time and gas money! I know 3 of you have already sent this in...thanks.  Hopefully the hay ride with your kids will be worth it. You will also get another pumpkin, I believe.

Tuesday, Oct. 15

Drivers for Pumpkin Patch on Oct. 22:  parent(s) of:  Aleah(2), Cali(2), Gracyn(2), Kendra(6), Gareth(4), Jarrett(3), Maia(3), Trevor(5) and Jake(6).

It is great to have so many volunteers!  However, we have too many drivers now, so if there are a few drivers that would like to skip this trip, please send a note in agenda or e-mail me(sabraham@sd73.bc.ca).  Unfortunately, we have to pay for adults on this field trip even though you are helping supervise!) I have allotted for 5 adults to be paid for by the small Field Trip fund in the office, so any extra will cost our class account.  Again, if you want to take a break on this trip, let me know.  Thanks for your understanding.

I will confirm all drivers closer to Oct. 22.

There is no homework this weekend unless a student wants to work on Poetry or if a student has not read to page 170 in Rats of Nimh.

Tuesday, Oct. 8

1.  Pumpkin Patch forms plus 6 bucks- Due Friday is possible.
2.  Rats of Nimh novel study project- ongoing- most are right up to date and do not need to be working on it for homework.
3.  STUDY multiplication tables!  Quizzes are each Monday out of 30 points. Kids have 1 minute, 45 seconds.  Quizzes are not weighted equally with other tests for reports, but are given consideration.  It is really important to try to study at home in addition to what we do at school.
4.  Multiplication quiz from Monday= try to sign and return by Thursday. This is just so you are informed. Thanks.
5.  Put your children to bed early and watch a comedian on Netflicks...very therapeutic at the end of a day!

Tuesday, Oct. 1

1.  Organize with your buddy about twin/triplet day Friday- do not buy anything!
2.  Poetry first drafts of:  2 haikus, 2 limericks and 1 couplet(we started as a class):due Thursday if possible, but some kids are on school computer so we can print them off Thursday.
3.  Grammar- Pronouns plus practice- Rats of Nimh chart- write 15 plus page number.
4.  Scholastic orders- due Friday and I'll make second order of year.
5.  Math test- students should get back test Thursday with mark.
